Hey there girlfriends!
I’m sharing with you another fabulous product review that I recently had the privilege (and good fortune) to try out! A skin care company that, to me, has a healthy holistic approach to skin care. Many claim to use natural ingredients but I personally question many of the labels out there. I feel that FDA labeling has loopholes that benefit giant beauty companies and that is truly unfortunate.
Anyway, onto the review (and do read to the very end to uncover a surprise 😉 ) The company is Valia and if you scoot on over to their website (AFTER YOU FINISH READING MY POST ;)) you will notice that their ‘thing’ is helping women reach their true potential via the use of ‘natural ingredients derived from Japanese remedies’.
They approached me in hopes that I would try their products, review them and of course if I liked them, share them with all of you. I visited their website and the more I looked through their site the more I was taken in and felt that this was a product that I really wanted to try.
So I did in fact receive the products. Valia sent me:
a) The Yuzu Skin System – Essential Travel Kit (neat!) which includes 1 jar of Yuzu Hydrating Cream (0.5 fl oz) and 2 cleanser pumps 1 fl oz each (1 Purifying Wash for all skin types and 1 Cleansing Milk for Normal / Dry Skin).
b) I regular size jar of Yuzu Hydrating Cream (2 fl oz.)
c) Omega Boosting Antioxidant Infusion – Dietary Supplement – 90 vegetable capsules
I have been using these products for over a month and I have to say that I am truly amazed and very happy with the results… I had one goal in mind as far as results were concerned and that was to achieve that ‘glowing’ ‘dewy’ skin we all crave (or at least I do). Skin that looks hydrated and well-nourished is what I desperately wanted and I am so happy to say that this is exactly what the products delivered.
The products claim to:
– ‘unlock your potential for luminous skin’
– ‘encourage cell turnover” for a ‘brighter , more radiant complexion’
– Work with an ‘effective blend of plant-based ingredients, herbal extracts and essential oils such as green tea, Vitamin C and Yuzu’ (Yuzu is a Japanes citrus fruit which is about the size of a tangerine, is quite sour and I read that Yuzu contains more vitamin C than any other citrus fruit – it is uncommon in the US – a thorough research of this fruit will impress you with its many beneficial properties! – just a side note)
The boxes do not say anything about targeting wrinkles or fine lines, however, their website does a great job of explaining the effects the ingredients they use have on aging and the skin and in my humble opinion these concerns are addressed with the turnover of new cells. Even as far as that is concerned I have noticed pleasant results. Another plus!
I initially started to use the Purifying Wash (for all skin types) and when that ran out I used the Milk Cleanser. The consistencies of both of these were light and not runny. Here are the pics.
I got a nice gentle lather that left my skin feeling clean but not ‘tight’. I also noticed that when I passed a toner over my entire face the pad came out nearly all clean with hardly any residue or leftover traces of makeup. I did have an issue with it cleaning some of my waterproof mascara BUT in all fairness I have trouble with any cleanser when it comes to waterproof mascara! Ugh! I have stopped using Waterproof mascara anyway since I don’t like the effects of it and how stubborn it is to get rid of not to mention the feel of my eyelashes taking a beating! But that’s a topic for a whole other day! Smh
The Hydrating Crème was very lightweight and gentle on my face. It’s not thick, in fact it’s almost translucid and I hope the picture does a good job of showing you.
I didn’t have that greasy feeling and was well absorbed by my skin. I could tell that my skin was slightly dehydrated by the way it drank up the entire product! At the beginning I would apply a little more just because I felt I wasn’t getting enough and then days later I noticed that my skin settled and I was applying less than at the start of the regimen. A little goes a long way so definitely some value and savings there as a bottle will last you quite a while! Yay!
I urge you to visit their website not only to familiarize yourselves with their products but they post many tips and suggestions regarding overall well-being that it is certainly worth a visit! They truly do cater to being the best you can be not only through natural products but through an overall healthy lifestyle. That’s what got me!
IMO and in conclusion:
– You get a ‘high end’ product using ingredients your skin will thank you for
– Value for your dollar – a little goes a long way so your product will last you, therefore saving you money in the long run
– Radiant, glowing skin that you will definitely notice
– I wanted my skin to just feel and look healthy and mission accomplished: I achieved the results I was looking for.
The other benefit that I noticed as well was that because my skin felt really healthy, my makeup also looked great! I wasn’t ‘hiding’ anything with makeup/foundation in fact I enhanced it and coupled with a skin illuminator that I purchased from Revlon my skin looks very different – in a very positive way! I absolutely loved using these products (must replenish as sadly I’m running out 🙁 ).
If you want to know more about Valia’s founding herbalist, Marc Ching then do read his biography. I found it very interesting! Here’s the link to Valia if you want to check them out, read their great posts or get your hands on the product. If you do please let me know if you experience the same results I did! I would love for you to share your comments with me!
I will conclude however by saying that products are just half the battle and can only do so much. We truly are ‘what we eat’ and if we don’t take care of ourselves from the inside out’ our skin will definitely reflect that!
As hard as it is do try and make it a point to eat healthy and exercise and these products will truly compliment your efforts AND you will look and feel your very best!!
The Surprise? Stay tuned for the blog post on Friday September 6th –one of you may actually get a Kit of your own! Ooops, I’ve said too much! 😉
